Our story
At MLT Power, we're passionate about using the sun to provide sustainable, cost-effective energy. As a leader in solar in the Western Cape and now Johannesburg, we've been perfecting our craft since 1986.
Founded in 1986 by Michel Malengret (Dr. Elec. Eng., UCT), MLT Power is 100% family owned, with more than 1,000 installations and a 4.9/5 rating from 150+ Google reviews.
Our journey began with Prof. Michel Malengret, who founded the business and grew it into a renowned manufacturer and distributor of solar and backup systems. International investment in 2014 boosted our growth and market share.
Today the team is led by Gerard Malengret, CEO, working closely with his brother Jean-Claude Malengret, a seasoned expert in solar energy. We're a Tesla Premium Partner and have been recognised by Tesla for performance excellence in Powerwall installation and support.
